Opening doors for entrepreneurs

I discovered Mercy Connections online when I was looking for ways to understand how business functions in the US, especially in Vermont. When I started my cleaning business, I had nothing, not even cleaning supplies. I did not have a car. As an immigrant from Cameroon, I could not drive. I did not even have the right to have a driver’s license.

When the time came for the Start Up course to start, I did not have enough money. The instructor advised me to go for the interview anyway. When I explained my project, she was incredibly positive. She said Mercy Connections would provide me with a scholarship. This was a miracle. I am incredibly grateful.

The only thing I had was a heart full of determination and commitment to my vision. I remember the first person who wrote a check to my company. It was July 12, 2020. I will never forget that Friday.

Today, my business is growing, and I have become established in the cleaning industry in Vermont. I have great reviews. People are happy with my job. I am serving with heart and making $5,000 a month. It is just the beginning.

Mercy Connections played a significant role in this journey. Through the program, I gained what I needed: understanding how to run a business and CONNECTIONS. The courses are very practical, and when you apply the teaching of the instructors, the results follow.

Mercy Connections, to me, was an open door to the Burlington and Vermont community. I want to be an inspiration to those who face difficulties in life. No matter what YOU are going through, you can use your story to inspire others.
